ZeniMax Online Studios is looking for experienced Systems Designers to help develop and polish our game systems – combat, economy, items, NPCs, etc. for our innovative and high-profile next generation MMO.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for getting individual systems and features into a final, polished in-game state, from document draft through working with Tech to final implementation and Content to integrate them into the game world
• Create systems-driven data that the Content team can easily draw upon (items, abilities, NPC behaviors), using our toolset.
• Collaborate with all of our departments to develop and refine these systems.

Requirements:

• Degree in any analytical or model-heavy discipline (CS, economics, math, statistics, etc.) or equivalent MMO work experience
• Must have a passion for playing MMOs and understand the language of MMOs
• Ability to learn toolsets quickly
• Ability to learn agile development processes quickly
• Strong grasp of game mechanics and balance
• Excellent written communication skills
• Excellent team player with strong work ethic and ability to take and act on feedback

Desired:

• Experience developing a large-scale commercial MMO
• Scripting experience
• Scrum or other agile development experience
• Experience creating UI mockups for game systems using Visio, Photoshop, or other drawing tools
• Experience creating mockups in Flash
• Experience with game development tools: bug tracking, Perforce, and document management applications
• High level knowledge of Excel
