Overview

ZeniMax Online Studios is looking for a Content Designer that will work with the content, world building, animation, audio, and gameplay teams to provide fun and well-conceived stories/locations for players to experience. This position will work on creating content in specific environments to create a fun and exciting game experience for the Elder Scrolls Online RPG.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to work in our proprietary toolset and become proficient as soon as reasonably possible

Overview

ZeniMax Online Studios is seeking a Principal Camera Technical Designer to join our studio for the development of our next AAA game. This is a chance to join an experienced group of developers in pre-production for a new IP.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Lead Systems Designer, Gameplay Camera Designers and the Movement, Combat, and Level Design teams to implement the unique camera vision of our game. The primary focus of the role will be the creation of in-game, player-controlled cameras and supporting development pipelines. You will also push the boundaries of your craft by exploring the latest emerging trends in camera design and creating solutions for high-mobility gameplay.

Responsibilities

  • Work with gameplay camera designers on designing and implementing adaptable cameras for general navigation
  • Provide guidelines for what types of camera behaviors are best for ease of control of the character and presenting essential elements in the environment
  • Support player navigation, traversal and combat with a keen eye for how camera behaviors affect usability
  • Collaborate with gameplay camera designers on ensuring that character controls feel consistent regardless of camera view
  • Iterate with gameplay designers on approaches to solving disorientation and motion sickness camera problems

Overview

The Senior Combat designer works with the Combat Lead and the rest of the development team in the creation and maintenance of core combat mechanics, character abilities, and combat itemization. They are responsible for maintaining and improving the health of the combat experience including balance, bug fixing, system improvements, and development of new features.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Combat Designer in developing and executing plans to improve and expand the combat experience
  • Adhere to guidelines and restrictions for combat gameplay as defined by the Lead Combat Designer and Creative Director
  • Take ownership of the development of specific combat features and improvement efforts, from ideation through delivery to players
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation for all mechanics, balance, and systems they are responsible for

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be the product specialist across multiple feature teams, where you will partner with Design and UX to define and steer systems, economies, and rewards that compose the game’s monetization and retention loops. Responsibilities

• Equipped with a deep bench of data-informed best practices, contribute goals and acceptance criteria on feature teams to align game design with product KPIs
• Ensure features are developed for LiveOps by working across Design, Engineering, and Business Intelligence to define data-driven flexibility, instrumentation, and telemetry

Overview

ZeniMax Online Studios is looking for a Tools Designer to assist in improving the efficiency, usability, and quality of game/data authoring tools for The Elder Scrolls Online. The Tools Designer collaborates with the Game Design and Tools Engineering teams, performing thorough analysis of existing design workflows and authoring proposals for improvements to those workflows. As part of these efforts, the Tools Designer also performs hands-on, productive design implementation tasks while embedded on interdisciplinary product and feature teams.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and develop proficiency with proprietary game and data authoring tools used by Game Designers
  • Develop and execute processes, in collaboration with Game Design teams, to identify potential improvements with impact projections for existing tools and workflows
  • Assist in collation, prioritization, and evangelization of tool requests coming out of Game Design teams for integration into the broader tools development backlog
  • Author and pitch designs and mockups to relevant teams and Stakeholders for tool and workflow improvements
  • Collaborate with the Tools Engineering team in development, iteration, and testing of tool and workflow improvements
  • Contribute to gameplay design and implementation efforts for player-facing deliverables while embedded on various interdisciplinary product teams

Qualifications

Overview

ZeniMax Online Studios is seeking a UI/UX Designer to join the UI team for The Elder Scrolls Online. The UI/UX Designer works with the Lead UI Designer, Visual UI Designer, and UI Engineering team to support the development of both new and existing features. They are responsible for taking charge of the user interface design component of what defines a player's experience within a variety of game systems and gameplay, while both maintaining and improving established design paradigms and patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Work within cross disciplinary teams and define UI layouts and flows for new systems
  • Deliver comprehensive documentation that defines how players will interact with new systems, from conceptual flowchart and wireframe stages to high fidelity mockups
  • Actively support the development of features by providing ongoing feedback towards the development and necessary documentation efforts
  • Work with our QA team to communicate the desired behaviors and experience for them to test new features against
  • Provide UI design support for ongoing triage of existing systems
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of existing game systems in ESO and how players interact with them

This designer will work with gameplay designers to create pitches for new cosmetics for players. They will be responsible for creating sketches and mood boards for ideas as well as assisting in setting up the data for approved pitches using proprietary tools.
